 Lafayette, Louisiana, April 1, 2011 - C-Nav, the premier supplier of international GNSS Precise Point Positioning (PPP) services, announces the latest addition to its C-Nav® range of precise positioning solutions. 

The C-Nav7000 is designed for customers wanting a user-friendly, configurable multi-correction source GNSS housed in a ruggedized 19” (2U) rack-mount unit.

C-Nav7000 provides the user with choice of correction options including: public SBAS services (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN), IALA beacon receiver module, UHF broadcast corrections module, the acclaimed decimetric C-Nav worldwide Correction Services and centimetric C-Nav RTK (with RTK extend) available.  Other features include correction source prioritization software, visual indicators of correction options, "Across the Room" verification of operational parameters and modules, as well as front panel status and quality monitoring.  

C-Nav7000 comes with dual redundant DC power inputs, two RS 232 ports, Ethernet LAN, USB and 1PPS as standard. Customers have a choice of single frequency (<0.6 meter) or dual frequency (<0.1 meter) performance receivers. Four slots are available for GNSS correction modules and future expansion.

 RIO DE JANEIRO — C & C Technologies do Brasil, a subsidiary of C & C Technologies, Inc.  C & C Technologies, Inc. (C & C) is set to sea trial its new Unmanned Semi-Submersible (USS) this June in the Gulf of Mexico.  The 6-meter (20 feet) vehicle was designed and built over the last three years as a substitute for the standard hydrographic survey launch.  Powered by a 30 horsepower diesel engine, the vehicle will be ideal for large nautical charting surveys and mine defense efforts.

 On July 18, 2007, at approximately 18:00 hours, the R/V Moana Wave documented the 100,000th kilometer surveyed by C & C's AUVs.  The milestone was crossed while the C-Surveyor III was working on a job for Shell Exploration and Production in the Gulf of Mexico.  "This is a great day for C & C as we extend our worldwide lead in this high technology area," said Thomas Chance, CEO of C & C Technologies.  "Our customers and employees have made this world record achievement possible, and I thank them for that," Chance concluded.

 The C-Nav® GPS Division of C & C Technologies has recently been awarded a five-year contract for navigation services with the U.K. Ministry of Defense.  C & C will continue to supply C-Nav® Global Positioning Services (GPS), equipment and training to the Royal Navy Hydrographic Squadron through to 2011.  The high accuracy GPS system is used by 13 vessels in the Hydrographic fleet and at the MOD training center in Plymouth UK.

 C & C Technologies do Brasil, a subsidiary of C & C Technologies, Inc., was recently awarded a 550-day contract, with an additional 550-day option, for the acquisition of shallow water geophysical survey data.  The contract requires single beam echosounder data to be collected for preliminary pipeline and beach landing surveys along the coast of Brasil.  Additionally, C & C Technologies do Brasil will also deploy Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) to collect oceanographic data.

 C & C Technologies announced recent upgrades to its C-Surveyor I AUV on July 11, 2006.  The C-Surveyor I, mobilized on the R/V Rig Supporter, has been surveying in Brasilian waters since April 2006.  During a regularly scheduled DNV hull inspection of the R/V Rig Supporter, C&C engineers seized an opportunity to install new hardware and software aboard the C-Surveyor I AUV.  Upgrades performed on the AUV allow for more efficient operations and software continuity throughout C&C's AUV fleet.

 C & C Geomar, located in Ciudad del Carmen, recently completed a large multichannel high-resolution seismic survey for Pemex Exploration Y Production.  The survey, located in the southern portion of the Gulf of Mexico, utilized surface navigation, multibeam bathymetry, a subbottom profiler, side scan sonar and a 24 channel multichannel seismic system to collected geophysical data in water depths ranging from 7 to 1700 meters.

 C & C Technologies' C-Surveyor I AUV, aboard the R/V Rig Supporter, began a 13-day transit from the coast of Angola to Rio de Janeiro, Brasil on March 11, 2006.  Over the last six months, the C-Surveyor I completed 10,700 kilometers of survey lines for numerous clients in Africa.  Upon completing its transit to Brazil, C & C®s AUV is expected to commence work on several deepwater projects.
02/24/2006National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and Department of Defense Contracts Awarded
 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Department of Defense announced today that it has awarded several contracts to C&C Technologies, Inc. for hydrographic mapping of US waters and research and development of new survey technologies.  Senator David Vitter was present for the announcement and commented, "These federal contracts are great news for C&C Technologies Inc. and for Lafayette. This is a win-win situation. C&C Technologies will help NOAA update their nautical maps more efficiently, and the federal funding will help boost our local economy at a crucial time during our recovery efforts."

12/30/2005C-Surveyor I Completes BP's Africa AUV Surveys
 C & C Technologies, the world leader in AUV survey services, recently completed several deepwater AUV hazard surveys for BP off of the coast of West Africa.  The surveys in Block 15, 18 and 31 encompassed over 7500 line kilometers and were completed with the C-Surveyor I™ AUV.
11/08/2005C & C Technologies Assists with Hurricane Investigation Surveys
 C & C Technologies, Inc. recently completed several months of investigative surveys related to Hurricane Katrina and Rita.  The surveys were completed per the MMS NTL using multibeam bathymetry, side scan sonar and magnetometer equipment.  In order to completethese emergency projects, C & C deployed three vessels working 24 hours a day to survey the seafloor for damaged pipelines and debris.
10/31/2005C-Surveyor AUV Program Full Steam Ahead
 C & C Technologies completed BP's Angola Block 31 AUV survey on October 17, 2005.  The hazard survey encompassed over 4300 line kilometers and was completed with C & C's C-Surveyor™ I AUV.  Upon completion of this survey, the C-Surveyor I, aboard the R/V Rig Supporter, began a pipeline survey in the West Africa region.

9/14/2005 C-Surveyor II AUV Begins Gulf of Mexico Projects
 C & C Technologies' second deepwater AUV, C-Surveyor II™, recently began field operations in the Gulf of Mexico.  The C-Surveyor II vehicle was initially delivered to C & C's corporate headquarters in Lafayette, Louisiana on June 3, 2005.  Over a period of three months, C & C system engineers integrated proprietary hardware and software into this next generation AUV and mobilized it on its mother ship the R/V Northern Resolution.
08/07/2005C & C Technologies-NavCom Technology Extend Exclusive Agreement
 C & C Technologies, Inc., an international survey company, and NavCom Technology, Inc., a subsidiary of Deere & Company, recently announced a five year extension to their agreement for the distribution of C-Nav GPS.  This agreement enables C&C Technologies the ability to provide StarFire™ differential GPS receivers and the related correction signals worldwide.  The agreement continues to be exclusive with respect to offshore operations pertaining to satellite navigation positioning on projects for surveying, mapping, geophysics, mining, cable laying and offshore construction, installation, inspection, and maintenance operations.
07/19/2005C-Surveyor AUV Far East Campaign
 C & C Technologies, an international survey company, recently announced its intent to mobilize one of its C-Surveyor deepwater AUVs to the Far East in the beginning of 2006.  C & C is currently discussing projects with several operators in the region to align time schedules and budgets.  Thomas Chance, President of C & C Technologies, Inc., commented, "We are uncertain that there is enough work in the Far East to justify the mobilization costs.In order for us to expand our AUV services to this region, we must secure several pending projects."

 C & C Technologies' deepwater AUV, C-Surveyor II™, was delivered to C & C's corporate headquarters in Lafayette, Louisiana on June 3, 2005.  C & C purchased the C-Surveyor II as a base vehicle in November 2004 and has worked diligently over the last six months to integrate and build customized components for this next generation survey AUV.
05/10/2005C & C Technologies Purchases M/V Northern Resolution
 C & C Technologies recently announced the purchase of the M/V Northern Resolution from Malene stervold Shipping AS of Norway.  The 247-foot Norwegian flagged vessel was purchased to assist in the acquisition of geophysical and geotechnical data.  The vessel has accommodations for 50 passengers and can transit at a speed of 12 knots for up to 50 days duration.

 The first AUV Users' Conference sponsored by C & C Technologies attracted worldwide participants from the oil & gas industry, as well as government agencies.  Held April 12 - 14, 2005 at Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, Missouri, it provided an opportunity for AUV manufacturers, integrators, and customers to explore opportunities for the advancement of AUV technology.
04/18/2005C-Surveyor I Completes BHP "Shenzi" AUV Survey
 C & C Technologies' deepwater AUV, C-Surveyor I, recently completed a hazard survey for BHP's Shenzi project in Green Canyon.  The scope of work required high-resolution multibeam, sub-bottom and side scan sonar data in water depths ranging from 4,100 feet to 4,550 feet.  During the project, the AUV collected over 1200 kilometers of survey line data that was analyzed by onboard route engineers for QA/QC measures.

 C & C Technologies, Inc. recently completed ChevronTexaco's Blind Faith hazard survey with its C-Surveyor I AUV.  The scope of work included a development survey in Mississippi Canyon 695 & 696 and a pipeline hazard survey from Blind Faith to the Na-Kika development.  The C-Surveyor I AUV, launched from her mother ship R/V Rig Supporter, collected high-resolution multibeam, subbottom and side scan sonar data in water depths ranging from 1900 meters to 2100 meters.

8/9/2004 New Positioning Technique Reduces Costs and Improves Productivity in Deepwater Gulf of Mexico
 During a recent ten-day project in the Gulf of Mexico for a major exploration and production company, the use of inertial navigation technology reduced vessel time by three to five days over the course of the deployment and positioning of seismic data acquisition modules. Prior to this successful sea-trial, precise underwater positioning was achieved by dropping and calibrating an array of acoustic beacons on the seabed, a time-consuming process that requires deployment, calibration and later recovery of the beacons.
07/28/2004WWII Shipwrecks May Hold Key to Biological Mysteries of the Deep
  Over the ages, humans have long been fascinated by the sea by what creatures inhabit the deep, dark waters, and what has become of the many ships that now lie beneath the waves. A team of world-renowned scientists will venture into the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico on an 18-day research mission to investigate the long-term effect of manmade structures on the deep sea, and conversely, the effect of the environment on those structures. The multidisciplinary group, overseen by the Interior Department's Minerals Management Service (MMS), will depart Port Fourchon, Louisiana on July 29 aboard the NOAA contracted research and exploration vessel HOS Dominator.

 C & C Technologies, Inc. and Woodside Mauritania Pty Ltd. recently signed a West Africa autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) survey contract. The two-week project entails a pipeline route survey from Banda to the Chinguetti development and an additional site survey for the Tiof Development. During the survey, C & C's C-Surveyor AUV will collect sub-bottom profiler, side scan sonar and high-resolution multibeam bathymetry data in water depths up to 1400 meters.

 Kongsberg Maritime, Inc., USA and Kongsberg Maritime, Norway have signed an agreement with C & C Technologies, Inc. for the sales and support of Hugin Autonomous Underwater Vehicles to the U.S. Government. C & C will complement Kongsberg's existing U.S. capacity with additional support facilities, technical expertise, and operational experience obtained during three years and over 18,000 miles of commercial AUV mapping. In addition, C & C will work jointly with Kongsberg to develop Hugin variants to address the evolving needs of the U.S. Government. 06/01/2004C & C Technologies Successfully Tests Inertial System on Deepwater ROV
 In June 2004, C&C Technologies conducted sea trials to test the feasibility of using inertial navigation technology for the deployment and retrieval of seismic recording devices in water depths up to 2,400 meters in the Gulf of Mexico. An ROV was used to position the recording devices on the seabed over an area covering several square miles. The objective of the trial was to determine if an inertial system could achieve the accuracy and reliability of traditional acoustic positioning methods. On the basis of the results, inertial navigation was found to be a viable and lower cost alternative to the deployment of large arrays of seabed positioning transponders for certain subsea applications.
05/25/2004C & C Completes Multichannel Seismic Survey for BP
 C & C Technologies recently completed a multichannel high-resolution seismic survey for one of BP's Gulf of Mexico prospects. The survey was successfully completed with C&C's new SeaMUX fully digital streamer system, which incorporates 96 channels at 6.25 meter group spacing. The digital streamer system was permanently mobilized on the M/V Moana Wave, a 210-foot US flagged vessel. The system has an expandable configuration for multiple air gun arrays and streamers with up to 960 channels.

 C & C Technologies' C-Surveyor I AUV, aboard the R/V Rig Supporter, recently began a 22-day transit from the Gulf of Mexico to West Africa. Upon completion of the transit, C & C's AUV will survey for approximately 20 days to complete a pipeline survey for TFE near Nigeria. The AUV will collect high-resolution multi-beam bathymetry, side scan sonar and sub-bottom profiler data in a single pass. Since becoming operational in 2001, C & C's C-Surveyor I has performed more than 30,000 kilometers of deep-water AUV surveys for a wide variety of international clients. Clients with prospective work in West Africa are encouraged to contact C & C in order to reserve AUV time.
04/22/2004NOAA Commits to C & C Technologies' C-Nav Worldwide DGPS
 National Oceanic Atmospheric National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently committed to C & C Technologies' C-Nav Worldwide Differential GPS corrections. International Industries, a US C-Nav dealer, sold the C-Nav hardware to NOAA for installation on the Thomas Jefferson. The vessel is presently performing hydrographic operations between NOAA and the Mexican Navy.

 C & C Technologies recently completed a hazard survey with the company's state-of-the-art C-Surveyor I autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) for BHP's Neptune project in the Gulf of Mexico.  C & C Technologies, Inc. and W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. recently entered into a collaboration agreement to provide advanced offshore geochemical survey services to the petroleum industry. The exciting thing about this relationship is that it will help customers reduce exploration costs and increase success rates, said Thomas Chance, President of C & C Technologies. 10/17/2003Return to the U-166: Working Together to Meet the Challenges of Deepwater Archaeology
 A science expedition recently explored the remains of the only World War II German U-boat, U-166, sunk in the Northern Gulf of Mexico. The U-166 was discovered in 5,000 feet of water in 2001 while C & C Technologies, Inc. was conducting a pipeline survey with their HUGIN 3000 Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) for BP and Shell International. The 2003 expedition was supported by NOAA's Office of Ocean Exploration, C & C Technologies, the PAST Foundation, and the Minerals Management Service (MMS), with ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) support provided by Sonsub, Inc. A crew from the New York film company, KPI, joined the science team to film a documentary for the History Channel's "Deep Sea Detective Series."

 C & C Technologies' C-Surveyor I AUV, aboard the R/V Rig Supporter, began a 22-day transit from the coast of Angola to the Gulf of Mexico on August 2, 2002. The C-Surveyor I recently completed 3100 kilometers of survey lines on a deep-water site investigation study for ExxonMobil. Upon completing its transit back to the Gulf of Mexico, C & C's AUV is expected to begin several pending projects.

 C & C Technologies recently completed an AUV site investigation survey off the coast of Angola for ExxonMobil. During the 34-day project, C & C's C-Surveyor I AUV, aboard the R/V Rig Supporter, collected high-resolution multi-beam bathymetry, side scan sonar and sub-bottom profiler data in water depths ranging from 500 to 900 meters. While collecting over 3100 kilometers of data, the AUV utilized acoustic modems to transfer sub-sampled data to the R/V Rig Supporter for QA/QC measures performed by route engineers.
7/7/2003 C & C Technologies Participates with The History Channel's "Deep Sea Detective" Series
 In the fall of 2003, C & C Technologies, Inc., in conjunction with the NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration, the PAST Foundation and the History Channel, will conduct an archeological expedition to the wreck site of the German U-166 submarine in the Gulf of Mexico. The purpose of the expedition is to collect archaeological data and examine the biologic communities on the U-166 site to better understand what happened on July 30, 1942. The scientists will research how the vessel, built to destroy, is now providing life to colonies of undersea creatures. As part of this documentation, a series of educational internet web casts are planned that will provide viewers with a live view of the wreck site 5,000 feet beneath the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The expedition, along with others, will be aired as part of the History Channel's "Deep Sea Detectives" series.
6/23/2003 Global Positioning Satellite Technology Assists in Recovery of Space Shuttle Columbia Wreckage
 Unexpected Tragedy.On 1 February 2003, the Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-107), due to land after a 16-day mission orbiting the Earth, broke up soon after re-entering the Earth's atmosphere killing all seven crew members on board. Tragically, instead of a routine landing at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, shuttle debris was scattered across East Texas and West Louisiana. As the world mourned, NASA immediately launched a comprehensive search for wreckage and the remains of the space crew involving hundreds of state troopers, police, rescue workers and recovery teams.

 C & C Technologies' C-Surveyor I AUV, aboard the R/V Rig Supporter, will begin a 22-day transit from the Gulf of Mexico to coast of Angola on May 24, 2003. After completing the transit, the AUV will survey for approximately 23 days to complete a site investigation study for ExxonMobil. The survey is expected to begin by the middle of June 2003.

04/11/2003C & C Technologies Searches for the Space Shuttle Columbia
 C & C Technologies, an international survey company based in Lafayette, Louisiana, was selected to assist in the recovery of the Columbia space shuttle within Toledo Bend Reservoir. In association with Phoenix International and the United States Navy, this project will incorporate three small research vessels with bow-mounted side-scan-sonars and multibeam sonar systems to image the reservoir bottom. Accurately positioned with C-Nav GcGPS (Globally-corrected GPS), these detailed images will be used to identify and geo-reference shuttle debris, which is critical to investigation of the accident.

 Since July 2001, C & C Technologies, Inc. has been supervising the survey of the Gulfstream pipeline near Tampa Bay, Florida. The pipeline stretches 656 miles and ranges in size from 16-36" in diameter. This is the longest pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico and cost more than $1.6 billion to complete.

 C & C Technologies, Inc., as a sub consultant to Brown Cunningham Gannuch (BCG) Engineering Firm, recently performed RTK GPS surveys in the Mississippi Delta southeast of Venice, Louisiana. The survey required collecting profile, cross-section, and baseline elevation data at six existing crevasse sites and nine proposed crevasse sites within the boundaries of the Pass A Loutre Wildlife Management Area and the Delta Wildlife Refuge.

 Shell International Exploration & Production, Inc. recently awarded the Magnolia, Habanero, Llano, and Glider AUV survey projects to C & C Technologies.  C & C Technologies, as a Team Member with Harris Corporation, the Prime Contractor, has been awarded a Global Geospatial Intelligence (GGI) contract by the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA). This intelligence contract, based upon ten calendar years of service, requires C & C to provide NIMA with Mapping and Charting Production Services that include: 1) Surveys, 2) Compilation Services, 3) GIS Analysis/Maintenance/Generation, 4) Map Digitizing and Scanning, 5) Acquisition of Source Information, and 6) Scene Visualization and Geospatial/Image Manipulation.
01/28/2003Lost Lake Project Completed by C & C
 C & C Technologies, Inc., a Louisiana based survey company, recently completed a 36-day "Lost Lake Placement Area" survey for the Galveston Corp of Engineers. This dredge placement project included the establishment of horizontal alignment and obtaining cross sections, profiles, and other topographic data prior to an aerial photogrammetric survey. C & C precisely mapped the area in order to capture present site conditions prior to its use in the upcoming Houston-Galveston Navigation dredging project.

12/23/2002Global Industries Awards C & C the Zia Pipeline Positioning Contract
 Global Industries has recently awarded the survey contract for Ocean Energy's 'ZIA' pipeline installation to C & C Technologies, Inc. C-Nav, C & C's new decimeter-level Globally-corrected GPS (GcGPS), will be utilized for surface positioning on the Dynamic Lay Barges (DLBs) Hercules and Chickasaw and the Dive Support Vessel (DSV) Pioneer. Subsea equipment will be positioned with USBL technology.
12/20/2002Historic Wartime Ship HMS Ark Royal Located with C & C Technologies' AUV
 C & C Technologies, Inc. of Lafayette, Louisiana announced today the discovery of the wreckage from the HMS Ark Royal which was recently located in the Mediterranean Sea. The discovery was made as part of a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) project investigating archaeology associated with historical Royal Navy battles. C & C, an international survey company, used a "state of the art" C-Surveyor I Underwater Vehicle (AUV) to collect high-resolution data that revealed the exact location of this historic aircraft carrier in 3,500 feet of water.

 C & C Technologies' C-Surveyor I AUV recently completed 1,300 linear kilometers of mapping for Petrobras in water depths of up to 2,950 meters. High-resolution data collected by the AUV's swath multibeam bathymetry, chirp side-scan sonar, and sub-bottom profiler systems, provided Petrobras with great benefit for the development of deep-water Brazilian oil fields. Additional AUV mapping included the inspection of an active deep-water pipeline.
11/25/2002C & C's C-Surveyor I AUV Steaming To Brazil
 C & C Technologies' C-Surveyor AUV I, aboard the R/V Rig Supporter, began a 10-day transit from the coast of West Africa to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on November 21, 2002. The AUV will perform two site-specific hazard surveys and a pipeline as-built survey for Petrobras. The surveys are expected to begin on December 4th and be completed by December 12, 2002.

 C & C Technologies' Surveyor I AUV, aboard the R/V Rig Supporter, successfully completed 1,300 kilometers of survey lines in AKPO Field OPL 246 for Total Fina Elf (TFE) Nigeria. This pipeline survey was completed in 12 days providing high-resolution swath multibeam bathymetry and imagery, chirp side-scan sonar, and sub-bottom profiler data to water depths greater than 1,400 meters.

 C & C Technologies recently completed a deepwater AUV pipeline and site survey for Total Fina Elf (TFE) in the Girassol and Rosa Lirio fields. This survey area is located in Angolas Block 17, 120 nautical miles northwest of Luanda in 1,350 meters of water. 8/1/2002 Vastar Horn Mountain Spar Installation Completed
 Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) contracted C&C Technologies, Inc. and alliance partner, Century Subsea, for the Vastar Resources, Inc. Horn Mountain SPAR Project. The SPAR was successfully moored in approximately 5,400 feet of water in Mississippi Canyon Blocks 126 and 127.
07/30/2002C & C Completes MEDGAZ Marine Survey
 C&C Technologies completed a survey of the Mediterranean seabed on July 12, 2002 for MEDGAZ. This survey was conducted to seek a suitable pipeline corridor between Algeria and Spain. The two survey vessels, ODIN FINDER and RIG SUPPORTER, which mobilized for the survey work in the beginning of June 2002, demobilized at Almeria during the second week of July 2002.

10/02/2001C & C Technologies Contracted for Japanese Fishing Vessel Retrieval
 C&C Technologies, Inc., an international surveying company based in Lafayette, Louisiana, USA, and alliance partner Century Subsea, were contracted by Canyon Offshore to assist in salvage operations on the Japanese fishing vessel Ehime Maru. The vessel sank on March 23, 2001, off the coast of Hawaii in 620 meters of water.

6/1/2001 C-Surveyor I AUV Discovers the U-166 Submarine
 BP and Shell announced discovery of the long-sought undersea wreckage of the German World War II submarine U-166 in the Gulf of Mexico. The U-166 was the only submarine sunk in the Gulf of Mexico during the war. The discovery was made as the companies were surveying a planned underwater pipeline route. It was reported to the U.S. government, which confirmed the find and notified the government of Germany.

11/20/2000Scotian Slope Non-exclusive Multibeam Survey Conducted by C & C Technologies
 C&C Technologies, Inc. of Lafayette, Louisiana USA completed a multibeam bathymetry and imagery survey of the Canadian Scotian Slope in June of 2000. Marathon, Murphy, Norsk Hydro, and PanCanadian sponsored this non-exclusive survey, which encompassed 28,000 square kilometers of the lease blocks ranging in depth from 600 to 3500 meters. These data are contributing directly to several issues relating to hydrocarbon prospectively, surficial geohazards, and environmental conditions at the seabed.

 C&C Technologies, Inc., a Lafayette, Louisiana, USA based hydrographic surveying company, will be the world's first commercial survey company to take delivery of an AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) capable of surveying in water depths up to 3000 meters. C&C has been working with Kongsberg Simrad for the past eight months to complete the assembly of the C-Surveyor I AUV. 11/23/1999C & C Technologies Images the Ironclad Warship Monitor
 C&C Technologies, Inc. (C&C) based in Lafayette, Louisiana, is a global survey company that specializes in high resolution geophysical surveying and mapping. C&C's Research Vessel, the Ocean Alert, was recently operating off Cape Hatteras, North Carolina and Robert Church, marine archaeologist, realized an opportunity to gather important archeological data. The ironclad warship Monitor sank off the Cape in a gale in 1862 after the famed battle against the Confederate ironclad Virginia (USS Merrimack). Robert contacted John D. Broadwater, manager of the Monitor National Marine Sanctuary, and gained permission to survey the Monitor site.

 Lafayette, LA -- When Submarine Systems International (SSI) received a contract to install fiber optic cable links between offshore platforms in the Campos Basin Field, offshore Brazil, the undersea communications system giant turned to Lafayette, LA-based C&C Technologies, Inc. to perform the cable route survey.
