C & C Technologies assists NOAA in Hurricane Katrina debris mapping

The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently awarded C & C Technologies a contract to locate underwater hurricane debris along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.C & C Technologies, an international survey company headquartered in Lafayette, LA, is known throughout the industry as a leader in hydrographic surveys, as well as, surface and subsurface positioning.

C & C is employing shallow water sonar equipment to provide precise locations of marine hazards and to aid in their subsequent recovery.  Data collected by several small survey vessels is provided to NOAA on a weekly basis for inclusion in a comprehensive database.

David A. Sampson, Deputy Directory of the Department of Commerce, recently visited a project site in Biloxi, Mississippi.  This visit reflects the Federal Government's commitment to remedying the marine debris problem, which has had a great toll on the local fishing, commercial, and recreational use of the shallow coastal areas along Mississippi.  Additional news stories covering the marine hurricane debris location and recovery can be found on The Weather Channel and WLOX ABC13.

C & C Technologies provides a variety of survey services including Globally-corrected GPS services, marine construction surveys, high-resolution geophysical surveys, geotechnical laboratory testing, and land surveys.  For more information, please contact Scott Croft at (+1) 337-261-0660, visit C & C's website at http://www.cctechnol.com, or send email to info@cctechnol.com.
