Stabilized Towed Bodies

Deploying stabilized towed bodies from an unmanned vehicle permits a wide range of sensor operations for near-surface and deep water applications.
C & C's affiliate, Autonomous Surface Vehicles,Ltd., is able to design and manufacture custom towed bodies for deployment on and below the sea surface from both unmanned and manned assets.
ASV recently chartered the SASS-Q in a towed configuration to deploy motion sensitive instruments away from ship noise. A new compact stabilized underwater towed body is currently being tested for military applications.
ASV's stabilized towed bodies are capable of carrying payloads of up to 300 kg to depths exceeding 200 meters. The combination of its active motion control system with dynamically-controlled winch system provides for highly stable sensor operations in constant-depth or constant-altitude modes.
